The Cost of Prisoners

As I recently learned, it costs about 20,000 dollars per year to house each prisoner. This is money that should be going to our schools to buy better textbooks, computers, and to hire better teachers. These people also eat good meals that could be going to the innocent poor, and the prisons take up land that could be replaced with green space to help keep kentucky beautiful. What if we didn't need to feed and house all of these people who break the rules of society?

In this mindset, I have come to the perfect solution to this problem. The average cost of a single bullet ranges from a few cents to a few dollars. With my proposal, that is all society would need to spend on these horrible people who essentially steal from the community. My proposal is that instead of wasting money on keeping prisoners in jail, we should simply kill them all. In addition to saving taxpayers millions of dollars, this would vastly lessen the number of crimes each year. Death is much more terrifying a penalty than free stay in a place with many amenities. For some, the current jail conditions are more satisfactory than their everyday abodes. That is no way to treat the scum of our society.
