The Image of Obama

No matter if you watched or didn't watch Obama's speech to the school children of America you still know that he gave it and you know the general gist of what he talked about. For me, it is the fact that he gave the speech in the first place that matters the most. He is the first president to care enough about the future to try and do something to help. I guess it is the image that really counts.

I do however have a few critiques of Obama. No matter how many personal anecdotes or stories of underpriveleged kids acheiving success that he tells, they all mean the same thing and dont mean anything more than the image of Obama giving this speech. The sole fact that Obama gave the speech is enough to get the point across, content is just not very important.

Also, I personally would like to know what would happen if the president started his speech with a joke, I dont think that he smiled once throughout the whole thing. I know that it is a serious topic, but he might reach more people if he wasn't so dry.

Anyway, I thought that the speech was good idea even if only mattered to half of the children who watched it. Thank you Obama for caring.
