This is by far the hardest blog we've done yet. At least for me, it was ridiculously hard to get rid of songs from the 35 song playlist I made and labled blog. As I was goin' through my music just picking songs that I have grown to love, and could listen to over and over I realized I had way too many. So I had to go through and pluck out five songs, which I have to admit just about killed me inside. As I was picking my music I realized this would make a perfect "wake-up" playlist. So in order here is my playlist:
1. Slow Ride by Foghat- just imagine waking up to that initial guitar riff, your volume set on "escalating". This song is my alarm about 60% of the time, and always helps to get me out of bed.
2. What I Got by Sublime- hell the beginnig of the song is about waking up. And the mellow beat, and smooth guitar make for an easy wake-up. Now, the lyrics may be a little "off" for some of you, but I love'em.
3.Why Don't You Get a Job by The Offspring- I love the first line, "My friend's got a girlfriend and he hates that bit**!" Hahaha, it gets me every time! You could even substitute this for the first song if you need a quick wake-up. But the vocals aren't "screamo", but they are screamed and they'll just help to keep you awake.
4. The Little Things by Danny Elfman- NOT COLBIE CAILAT! I've had many people go through my iPod and mistake the two. If you've ever seen the movie "Wanted" you'll know this song. It's beat is heavy, but not quite metal, it's just a good song to keep you awake.
5. Deliverance by Bubba Sparxxx- This is WAY before the Bubba Sparxxx everyone listens to. This is not that "Miss New Booty" BULLSPIT! This has an amazing southern rock/rap sound. The guitar riff in this song is so mellowing, I like to walk out of the house listening to this song of I can. It just soothes my soul, and almost makes me forget I'm on the way to school.
